On Columbus Day, we had a great time learning how to draw a boat, exploring various activities having to do with spheres (the shape of Earth), sink or float, and other math and language arts skills. Here are some pictures from our day!

Candy Corn and Fall Fun!
Candy Corn Word Building
Here are some kiddos painting their scarecrow heads!
We used candy corn to make Indian Corn!
Our first tear art project, making candy corn, then labeling each color with a phrase that helps us understand the Good News of the gospel!
White is for our sins that Jesus washed away
Orange is for new hope, the Lord gives us each day
Yellow is for his wisdom and words so sweet, all wrapped up in this candy corn treat!
The kiddos helped to make our delicious candy corn sugar cookies. Hopefully you all had a taste of them at home!
Finally, we just had to get a little messy with some candy corn footprints! Kindergarten is stepping into fall!

iPads....
This week, we had our first few lessons using the iPads. To begin, we talked about the basics of using an iPad- turning it off and on, adjusting the volume, opening and closing an app, carrying the iPad safely, and more! Then, we completed our first iPad activity using Doodle Buddy and Popplet. We reviewed some words that rhyme with 'hat,' then the kids drew a picture of a hat and another picture that rhymes. We then saved our pictures and opened them in Popplet and added text to the pictures. Check out the pictures below!
