More Scientist of the Week Fun!

I am so proud of all the kiddos and their awesome science experiments! I have two more to share with you today.

First, Briana showed us that science can make an egg bounce!!

Then, Ariel taught us about magnets and showed how opposites attract.

Wonderful job, girls! 

Penguins!

We have been studying Penguins in Kindergarten. The kiddos absolutely loved the Penguin iPad activity that allowed them to listen to a real penguin, scroll through some pictures, learn fun facts, and take a little quiz at the end.

We are also beginning our stuffed penguin project. Each student drew a penguin and now we're working on sewing penguins to match their drawing. Below, you will see pictures of the kids stitching on their penguin's belly. Every year, my mom graciously gives her time to help with this project. The kids always love meeting 'Mrs. Pepe.' :)

We also worked on sharing equally with Percy penguin and some yummy fish.

Scientist of the Week

Isaiah was our last Scientist of the Week. He did a fun experiment to show about positive and negative charges. Great work, Isaiah!

Stop, Drop, and Roll!

Today, we had the privilege of welcoming Mr. Sandoval, Mia's dad, to our classroom. He is a Paramedic with the Los Angeles Fire Department. The kids had a blast learning all about his job as well as some important things, like when to call 911, what to do if there's a fire, and much more! Here are some fun pictures from the morning!

Scientist of the Week...

We had two recent Scientists of the week. First, Rylen did a wonderful job showing our class how light reflects off smooth tin foil and the change that occurs when that foil has been scrunched up.  Awesome job, Rylan!

Second, Josiah prepared a wonderful sink or float experiment for us, including a worksheet giving everyone a chance to participate! Great job, Josiah!
